As an ex-teacher, with 20 years experience in the classroom and middle management, I’m now a leadership coach, mindfulness instructor, writer and trainer.  I offer a range of training and coaching for school staff and senior leadership teams.

A typical day’s training is £600. For small schools, it’s possible to partner with another and work together. Please email me at to discuss your needs.

As a new or established headteacher, there are times when working with an external practitioner can help you to establish or develop your role to meet the ever increasing demands of your post.

“I have been supported in my journey into leadership by Sue. She has been a great sounding board and guide, supporting me in developing my own style of leadership without ever telling me what to do. Her approach is one of coaching and support that has enabled me to find the path and walk it in a manner that works for me. She made the journey more achievable during the times that i thought it wasn’t.” Headteacher

“The most valuable CPD I have experienced as a School Leader. The opportunity to talk and be listened to about issues that go with leading a school are very few and far between. Working with Sue about areas that were pertinent to my role, gave me the capacity to resolve big issues myself. Every busy professional needs this opportunity to re-energise their passion for their job.” Headteacher

Please email to find out more about flexible coaching programmes to suit you. Prices start at £800 for a year’s 1:1 support for senior staff.

Training for Senior Leadership Teams

Leadership Presence is a pre-requisite for any leader; the ability to demonstrate confidence, gravitas and credibility is crucial when it comes to establishing your authority, both in the classroom and out of it. Whether it’s communicating with members of staff, an OFSTED inspector, parents or governors, the ability to remain calm, perform under pressure and do yourself (and your school) justice in the heat of the moment, is a skill you’ll need to develop.

Flexible Leading with Impact packages, which can combine training, coaching, or a mix of both, can help your senior leadership team to show up as leaders and strengthen your school’s performance.

Shining at School

A confident team results in a school that is moving forwards together, working smoothly, communicating with ease, able to think and perform under pressure. Your team are good – the extra polish and shine they’ll get after spending a day on this workshop will help them to lift themselves, their performance, the school.

This workshop aims to help school staff to shine at work, improving  performance, communication and productivity.

Topics that can be covered include:

  • identifying the staff’s individual and team strengths, and how to play to them at work
  • exploring ways to  manage self-doubt and demonstrate confidence
  • communicating assertively
  • understanding the relationship between emotions and energy, and learn how to manage themselves more effectively
  • managing time and focus more effectively
  • an introduction to  mindfulness

Rooted in positive psychology, this workshop is practical, engaging and motivating.
